Our Safety Records Speak for ThemselvesAll Hollenback & Nelson employees are part of our safety program. We want all of our people to work every day in the best conditions possible. It is our excellent safety records that allow us to compete for most demanding projects, illustrated by our experience modification rates: Experience Modification RatesJanuary 2008 = 0.80 January 2007 = 0.82
PoliciesThe backbone of our safety program is our company policies. These policies reflect both common sense safety practices and OSHA rules related to the concrete and masonry industry. Only competent and qualified persons are tasked to perform our skilled work. ExperienceOur next level of safety comes from our experienced superintendant and crew foremen. Our foremen provide relevant weekly safety instruction to our crews at each job site. Our foremen and crews know their jobs, and they know how to do them safely. Our foremen, superintendant and safety inspectors also communicate their individual safety concerns to each other and the work crews through the 'Foremen Focus' safety training newsletter. InspectionsOur safety and production inspectors visit our job sites to make sure that company policies and rules are adhered to, and that all employees have the safety equipment they need to do their work. Our inspectors also investigate and document incidents related to accidents, injuries and other safety issues.
Safety inspectors attend safety meetings sponsored by OSHA and the Association of General Contractors so that we can network and stay abreast of industry safety issues, rule changes and OSHA interpretations. Our inspectors also work together with our insurance providers and implement their safety recommendations into our safety program. |
